CCTV & P2P Project at Takaka Hatchery
Client: New Zealand King Salmon
Project Overview: Teltrac’s Nelson team successfully completed the installation of advanced technology at the New Zealand King Salmon hatchery in Takaka. The primary challenge was the site’s remote location, which was effectively addressed using Starlink to provide the necessary network connection. This connection was then extended to the remote ponds via a point-to-point system.
Technical Details: A network switch, housed in an externally rated cabinet, enabled the powering of an Avigilon 360-degree cloud camera and an Aruba Access Point. The feedback from New Zealand King Salmon has been overwhelmingly positive.
Collaborators: Datacom supplied the point-to-point equipment.
Project Duration and Team Involvement: The project spanned from April to August, involving five technicians. The extended duration was due to waiting for the equipment supplied by Datacom. In total, the project required 215 hours of labor.
This case study highlights Teltrac’s ability to overcome logistical challenges and deliver high-quality technological solutions in remote locations.
